Kao Data CEO, Jan Daan Luycks, Interviewed by Data Economy
When Data Economy editor, João Lima, visited Kao Data Campus, he interviewed CEO Jan Daan Luycks about the location of the 35-acre data centre development, the prospects for colocation in the UK as Brexit looms, and why the US and Asia could be where future business will come from. Jan Daan pointed out that Harlow is a lot closer to Central London than Slough, which hasn’t harmed the development of data centres in the Berkshire location. “We’re about 25 miles from Docklands – which is very close and with great road and rail links. Kao has its own land, substantial power and first-class fibre connectivity into London, Ireland and mainland Europe. We are immensely proud of all the hard–work that everyone has put into this landmark achievement for sustainability. The development at Harlow continues according to schedule and we look forward to our go live day in December!”
