Wave of Change is a transformative initiative empowering women in Stockport facing unemployment, social isolation, and health challenges. Through personalised support, skill-building workshops, and mentorship, the project aims to restore confidence, foster resilience, and create pathways to meaningful work. By providing a supportive space for women to reconnect with their potential, Wave of Change seeks to inspire lasting positive change for individuals and the community.
The Kao SEED Fund will support the Empowering Wavers project, an extension of Wave of Change. It aims to help women in Stockport facing employment and connection challenges by offering tailored support, mentoring, and coaching. The project provides practical resources such as interview prep, CV support, job searching assistance, and training courses to boost confidence, skills, and economic independence, fostering long-term positive change in the community.
This project aims to support 10 women in Stockport, aged 30-60, who are unemployed, socially isolated, or facing mental or physical health challenges. It focuses on empowering women who are struggling to find employment and feel disconnected or overwhelmed. By providing personalised guidance, skill-building workshops, mentorship, and emotional support, the project helps women rebuild confidence, gain new skills, and connect with meaningful work opportunities.
The project aims to boost the confidence, career readiness, and overall empowerment of women in Stockport, leading to greater economic independence and reduced isolation. Key success indicators will include the number of women securing employment, internships, or apprenticeships, as well as improvements in personal and professional skills, measured through pre- and post-programme surveys on confidence, job-seeking abilities, and self-esteem.
