NVIDIA

Kao Data are a NVIDIA preferred partner and our data centres are NVIDIA DGX-Ready certified, meaning we are able to support high-density, GPU accelerated hardware for AI and advanced computing. Our Harlow campus is also part of the NVIDIA's DGX Cloud offering (formerly known as the Cambridge-1 Supercomputer).

Open Compute Project

The Open Compute Project (OCP) is a collaborative, global community focused on re-designing hardware technology to efficiently support the growing demands on compute infrastructure. Kao Data is a member of the OCP Data Centre Facility Working Group, and was the first UK data centre to achieve OCP-Ready status.

SCAN partner with Kao Data to provide the UK's foremost ecosystem for HPC and AI. As an NVIDIA Elite Partner, Scan offers more than 30 years of experience in specifying, deploying and maintaining hardware within technically complex HPC environments.

CBRE deliver end‑to‑end hard and soft facilities management for Kao Data, covering all building, mechanical, electrical, cooling and fire systems, and providing ongoing maintenance and support for the company’s low‑ and high‑voltage electrical infrastructure, UPS, switchgear, HVO‑powered generators and hybrid air‑and‑liquid cooling technologies.

Jisc is the provider and operator of the Janet network (Joint Academic Network), which serves as the UK’s national research and education network. Kao Data and Jisc have joined forces to provide the UK's public sector, academia, and scientific research organisations with access to cutting edge, sustainable and scalable data centre capacity, via a partnership framework.

Kao Data partners with the Uptime Institute and was formally awarded the Stamp of Approval for Management and Operations (M&O) by the Uptime Institute in 2021. Uptime Institute is the Standard bearer for digital infrastructure performance. Their tier standard has been used in the design, construction and operations of thousands of sites in more than 110 countries.

Climate Neutral Data Centre Pact

The CNDCP commits the European cloud and data centre industry to ambitious sustainability action. Data centre operators and industry associations have agreed to a Self-Regulatory Initiative to make data centres in Europe climate neutral by 2030. This is an historic and unprecedented commitment by an industry to proactively lead the transition to a climate neutral economy.

Sector 3 is Stockport’s charity infrastructure support service, supporting voluntary, community, faith-based groups, social enterprises and charities. As an independent registered charity, they provide advice, resources and a strong voice for the VCFSE sector, bridging the gap between public and private organisations. Sector 3 partnered with Kao Data to create the Kao Seed Fund, helping local initiatives and communities thrive.

Delivered by the Building Research Establishment (BRE), BREEAM is the world’s leading sustainability assessment method for master-planning projects, infrastructure and buildings. Recognising our commitment to sustainability, upon its completion our first facility on the campus – KDL1 achieved BREEAM “excellence” in construction, which assesses the buildings’ energy efficiency as well as its’ environmental and sustainability competency.
