NVIDIA

Kao Data are a NVIDIA preferred partner and our data centres are NVIDIA DGX-Ready certified, meaning we are able to support high-density, GPU accelerated hardware for AI and advanced computing. Our Harlow campus is also the home of NVIDIA's Cambridge-1 supercomputer, which has now become part of their DGX Cloud offering.

Open Compute Project

The Open Compute Project (OCP) is a collaborative, global community focused on re-designing hardware technology to efficiently support the growing demands on compute infrastructure. Kao Data is a member of the OCP Data Centre Facility Working Group, and was the first UK data centre to achieve OCP-Ready status.

Jisc is the provider and operator of the Janet network (Joint Academic Network), which serves as the UK’s national research and education network. Kao Data and Jisc have joined forces to provide the UK's public sector, academia, and scientific research organisations with access to cutting edge, sustainable and scalable data centre capacity, via a partnership framework.

European Data Centre Association

The EUDCA represents the interests of the European commercial data centre operator community, both politically and commercially. Established in 2011, the association is registered under Belgian Royal Charter and is run by its members, for its members. Kao Data has been an active member since it went operational in 2018.

Kao Data partners with the Uptime Institute and was formally awarded the Stamp of Approval for Management and Operations (M&O) by the Uptime Institute in 2021. Uptime Institute is the Standard bearer for digital infrastructure performance. Their tier standard has been used in the design, construction and operations of thousands of sites in more than 110 countries.

Climate Neutral Data Centre Pact

The CNDCP commits the European cloud and data centre industry to ambitious sustainability action. Data centre operators and industry associations have agreed to a Self-Regulatory Initiative to make data centres in Europe climate neutral by 2030. This is an historic and unprecedented commitment by an industry to proactively lead the transition to a climate neutral economy.

Delivered by the Building Research Establishment (BRE), BREEAM is the world’s leading sustainability assessment method for master-planning projects, infrastructure and buildings. Recognising our commitment to sustainability, upon its completion our first facility on the campus – KDL1 achieved BREEAM “excellence” in construction, which assesses the buildings’ energy efficiency as well as its’ environmental and sustainability competency.

UTC Heathrow

UTC the UK’s first University Technical College to create a dedicated, data centre engineering curriculum. The College is focused on delivering an advanced technical education that helps their students to pursue rewarding careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Changing Lives Community Services are a not-for-profit and early intervention and prevention project that provides support to vulnerable children in Essex and beyond via its sporting and community engagement programs. Cambridge Science Centre

CSC is an independent, educational charity, that provides engaging online and hands-on science and technology experiences to ignite the scientific curiosity of 7–13-year-olds, their families/carers, friends and teachers. The Science Centre also plays a crucial role in providing access to digital and hard-copy physical resources to disadvantaged communities to help encourage more young people into the technology, engineering and scientific sectors. Kao Data has actively supported CSC since 2021.
