Matipo Arts CIC is a community-focused multi-arts company creating theatre, workshops and events so local people have real access to and ownership of the arts. The Walk, Talk, Do, Care: Legacy project develops an existing creative wellbeing programme that combines guided walks with artist-led activities to build connection, empathy and empowerment in Harlow.
The funding will support a three‑month legacy phase of Walk, Talk, Do, Care, including monthly guided walks and creative sessions plus a dedicated steering-group workshop. It will resource facilitation, materials, documentation and planning so the group can explore self‑running and financially sustainable models for long‑term delivery.
The project supports adult Harlow residents, particularly unpaid carers, caregivers and socially isolated individuals, with sessions open to all adults. Up to 90 people may attend across three sessions, with around 10 forming a steering group, alongside local artists and partner Roots to Wellbeing, who gain work and collaboration opportunities.
The legacy phase aims to secure a sustainable, community‑led future for Walk, Talk, Do, Care with reduced reliance on short‑term grants. Impact will be seen in continued or increased participation, stronger participant ownership, clearer leadership from community members, and a concrete future delivery plan informed by qualitative feedback, case studies and participation data.
