Potter Street Health and Wellbeing Hub runs a Community Garden in South East Harlow to bring local people together, promote healthy eating and support a healthier lifestyle.
The Children’s Corner project will create a dedicated, safe and environmentally friendly space for children within the garden. Here, children will learn about biodiversity, sustainable energy and gardening, helping them to connect with nature and develop healthier habits. The garden is inclusive, already supporting people of all abilities and supplying seasonal produce to three local charities.
The Children’s Corner will support families, young people and children with additional educational needs in the Potter Street and wider South East Harlow community. It is expected initially to support 10–15 children with additional educational needs each week, giving them structured, supportive access to outdoor learning.
The project will enhance the Community Garden’s offer by giving children a dedicated space to learn, play and grow food, encouraging healthier lifestyles from an early age. Families and children will have a local resource that promotes outdoor activity, environmental awareness and social connection.
