What has been your career journey to get into digital infrastructure?
When I first joined the digital infrastructure industry, I was struck by the multitude of opportunities available. It wasn’t just the diverse fields within HR that captivated me, but also the industry’s initiatives focused on inclusivity, such as working with local colleges to promote diversity and provide equal opportunities for under-represented groups. It was truly inspiring.
I quickly realised that this industry offered a vast landscape to explore and learn. I found myself involved in various projects, not only related to diversity but also incorporating new technologies within HR. This environment demanded mental agility and openness to constant change—qualities that are essential because digital infrastructure is always evolving with new challenges and innovations.
I believe working in this industry has made me more resilient, empathetic, and understanding. I’ve become bolder and more confident, finding my voice in rooms filled with high-ranking professionals. This industry teaches you that everyone starts somewhere and that every voice matters, no matter the level or position. Even now, as I am on maternity leave, I find it hard to consider opportunities in other industries because I know the vast potential for growth, learning, and participation in exciting projects here in digital infrastructure.
